U.S. stock jumped higher on good earnings reports despite new claims for unemployment benefits and initial jobless claims rose while existing home sales dropped. Dow Jones rose 1.99%, S&P 500 jumped 2.25%and Nasdaq rose 2.68%.
Microsoft reported a better than estimated net income of US$4.52 bil, a 48% jump as companies spend on computers as the business recovers.
