Asian stocks rose as investors are upbeat on the home sales data in U.S. Nikkei lost 0.07%, HSI up 0.64% and STI rose 0.42%. FBM KLCI closed flat to 1,352.23.
UBS and Deutsche Bank both posted a profit this quarter, boosting confidence on the health of European banks.
Maybank expects 50% increase in the value of investment banking deals this year. Analysts polled by Reuters estimated the bank to post a record net profit of RM3.7bil for the full year. Call warrants on the counter are MAYBANK-CJ, MAYBANK-CL, MAYBANK-CM and MAYBANK-CN.
